Adventist Health System, Winter Park, Fla., said its president and chief executive officer, Thomas Werner, will retire Jan. 1, 2007, to spend more time with his family. The board of the 30-hospital system will elect Werner's successor at a Feb. 23 meeting, an Adventist spokesman said. Werner, 59, became chief executive of Adventist in August 1999 after having served as president and CEO at Florida Hospital, Orlando, and executive vice president at Adventist.
