Fairview Health Services, Minneapolis, and North Memorial Health Care, Robbinsdale, Minn., abandoned competing hospital construction proposals and unveiled a joint plan to build an 80-bed hospital in Maple Grove, Minn., for roughly $80 million. Seven-hospital Fairview and North Memorial, owner of 449-bed North Memorial Medical Center, were two of three suitors for state approval to build a hospital in the fast-growing Twin Cities suburb.
