National Research Corp., Lincoln, Neb., a leader in measuring provider performance and patient outcomes, expanded its presence in the managed-care market by acquiring Geriatric Health Systems, San Francisco.
Terms of the deal weren't disclosed. Founded in 1985, privately held Geriatric Health develops and conducts surveys measuring health status, insurance risk and member satisfaction for more than 60 Medicare Advantage and commercial health plans in 40 states.
The deal is expected to add slightly to NRC's 2005 earnings, company officials said. In the first half of 2005, NRC earned $1.7 million, or 23 cents per share, on revenue of $13.7 million.
