Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge, La., unveiled a $200 million, five-year capital plan that will begin with renovation and expansion of 200 patient rooms and four intensive-care units at the 626-bed hospital. Each patient room will be increased 100 square feet and the ICUs will be expanded 30%. The hospital said it plans to begin construction in late 2006 or early 2007 on a new children's hospital and a cardiac-care tower. The major parts of the expansion are expected to be finished by 2010, according to a news release. -- by Paul Barr
