Morristown (N.J.) Memorial Hospital won local approval to build a 148-bed heart hospital on a site adjacent to its campus formerly zoned for residential use. Plans call for a 1,170-car, five-level parking garage. The $150 million project will create 107 new cardiac rooms and free older cardiac areas of the hospital to be modernized for new uses, a hospital spokeswoman said. Construction on the garage is expected to begin within three months. The new cardiac facility should be ready for patients by 2008. -- by Cinda Becker
