Home-health provider Amedisys, Baton Rouge, La., said it was expanding its market share in the Southeast by signing a definitive agreement to acquire privately held Housecall Medical Resources, Knoxville, Tenn., for $106 million. The sale is subject to regulatory approval, but is expected to close in July. Amedisys said Housecall operates 57 home health agencies and nine hospices, with annual revenue of about $103 million. Amedisys operated 122 home health agencies and two hospices as of March 31, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing. -- by Joseph Mantone
