Michael O'Boyle is the new chief operating officer of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, officials announced today. O'Boyle, who joined the system in 2001 as chief financial officer, replaces Frank Lordeman, who will retire next month after 13 years with the organization. O'Boyle will have overall responsibility for operations at the Cleveland Clinic's main campus as well as the hospitals and business units within the Cleveland Clinic Health System and Cleveland Clinic Florida. He also will oversee construction of the new $400 million Heart Center, officials said. Steven Glass, the Cleveland Clinic's current controller and chief accounting officer, will serve as acting chief financial officer of the organization, which employs more than 1,500 physicians representing approximately 100 medical specialties. -- by Michael Romano
