St. Thomas Health Services, Nashville, said that Jim Houser will become president and chief executive officer of the five-hospital system. Houser joined St. Thomas as interim CEO in April, replacing Thomas Beeman. Houser came to St. Thomas from St. Vincent Health, Indianapolis, where he had been executive vice president and chief operating officer since December 2002. Ascension Health, St. Louis, is the parent of both systems. Houser also previously worked as regional president and CEO at Christus Health's Christus Santa Rosa Health Care in San Antonio. Ascension and Christus are both Roman Catholic systems. -- by Vince Galloro
