Boston Scientific Corp. said it won a patent-infringement suit in the Netherlands against Johnson & Johnson, its only competitor in the hotly contested drug-eluting stent market. The Dutch court ruling prohibits Cordis, a J&J subsidiary, from manufacturing, using or selling the infringing balloon catheters in the Netherlands. Boston Scientific officials said they were pleased with the decision and are hopeful "that it will provide an opportunity for a fair and reasonable settlement of the numerous disputes between our two companies." Cordis officials said they intend to file an appeal and that the ruling will have no effect on the supply of its Cypher stent in the U.S. -- by Cinda Becker
