Winners of the sixth annual TEPR Awards for outstanding healthcare information technology products were announced Monday at an IT trade show in Salt Lake City. TEPR stands for Toward an Electronic Patient Record.
In the category for mobile devices, first place went to PatientKeeper's Enterprise Solutions; second place to Allscripts Healthcare Solutions' TouchWorks EHR; and third place to Midmark Diagnostics Group's IQMark Physicians Diagnostic Assistant.
For electronic prescription systems, the top award went to eClinicalWorks' EMR; second to DrFirst's Rcopia electronic prescription management system; third to Allscripts' TouchWorks EHR.
In the competition for electronic health records systems for small medical practices, first place went to eClinicalWorks' EMR; second to Physician Micro Systems' Practice Partner Patient Records; third to Misys Healthcare Systems' EMR.
For electronic health records systems for medium and large practices, Physician Micro Systems' Practice Partner Patient Records won the top award; second went to eClinicalWorks' EMR; and third went to Allscripts' TouchWorks EHR.
For hospital electronic health records systems, the top award went to Cerner Corp.'s Millennium; second to Siemens Medical Solutions' Soarian. There was no third place award.
And for medical transcription systems, first place went to Axolotl Corp.; MedQuist won second place. No third place award was given, and no products were cited.
The Boston-based Medical Records Institute has sponsored the conference for 21 years. Attendance at the show, which runs through Wednesday, is projected to be up about 10% over last year, according to C. Peter Waegemann, chief executive officer of the institute.
