Turnover among hospital chief executive officers rose to 16% in 2004 -- the highest level since 2000 -- from 14% in 2003, the American College of Healthcare Executives said. CEO turnover was 17% in 2000 and for the past decade peaked at 18% in 1999. The rate, based on American Hospital Association reports from 4,928 hospitals, was adjusted for interim and acting CEOs. -- by Melanie Evans
