Behavioral healthcare management firm Horizon Health Corp., Lewisville, Texas, said its second-quarter and six-month profits increased about 15%, helped by the company's January acquisition of a 160-bed behavioral health hospital in Willoughby, Ohio. Horizon earned net income of $3.1 million, or 53 cents per share, on revenue of $54.4 million for its second quarter ended Feb. 28. That compared with net income of $2.7 million, or 47 cents per share, on revenue of $42.1 million in the year-ago quarter. For the six months of its fiscal 2005, Horizon earned $6.1 million, or $1.05 per share, on revenue of $106.5 million. The company had net income of $5.3 million, or 93 cents per share, on revenue of $84.2 million in the year-ago period. Horizon operates 141 behaviorial healthcare facilities. -- by Joseph Mantone
