The American College of Healthcare Executives named William Schoenhard, executive vice president and chief operating officer at SSM Health Care, St. Louis, as its chairman-elect at the ACHE's 48th congress being held this week in Chicago. Samuel Odle, president and chief executive officer at Methodist and Indiana University hospitals and executive vice president at Clarian Health, Indianapolis, began his one-year term as ACHE chairman, succeeding Richard Henault, executive vice president at Methodist Health System Foundation, New Orleans. The ACHE also named four executives to three-year terms on its board of governors: A. Donald Faulk Jr., president and CEO at Central Georgia Health System and the Medical Center of Central Georgia, Macon; Mark Hudson, executive vice president at Cleveland County HealthCare System, Shelby, N.C.; Lynne Thomas Gordon, director of operations at Shands at AGH, Gainesville, Fla.; and Nancy Thompson, director of HHS' office of Medicare hearings and appeals transition and adjunct associate professor at George Washington University School of Public Health. -- by Melanie Evans
