A new Web site offering comprehensive, up-to-date Medicare fee-for-service information for physicians was unveiled Tuesday at the American Medical Group Association's annual meeting in Los Angeles. The association has been working for the last six months with the CMS to develop the Web page, Medical Group Physician Information Resource for Medicare.
The Web site features sections on coding, HIPAA compliance, fraud and abuse, a quarterly provider update and specialty topics such as physician self-referral and reassignment. The site's format, according to a press release, will allow physicians in medical groups to easily access information in a "one-stop resource page."
Donald Fisher, the AMGA's president and chief executive officer, said the site will give medical groups a "more user-friendly and practical means to improve communications and information exchange between their physicians and the largest payer of healthcare in America."
The AMGA, based in Alexandria, Va., represents most of the nation's largest medical groups. Its members provide healthcare to approximately 50 million patients in 42 states.
