National Surgical Care, a Chicago-based operator of ambulatory surgery centers, has acquired Aspen Healthcare, Niwot, Colo., which develops and manages surgery centers, officials announced Monday. Both companies partner with physicians and hospitals in joint ventures for surgery centers.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
NSC, which has purchased six multispecialty surgery centers in the last 15 months in California, Florida, Maryland, Nevada and Texas, now will operate 23 facilities.
E. Timothy Geary, NSC's chairman and chief executive officer, said the acquisition "enables us to grow significantly in the development arena and provides us with the additional capacity necessary to acquire, develop and manage more surgery centers across the U.S."
