An item in Thursday's Daily Dose on reaction to President Bush's State of the Union address said the Medical Group Management Association feared the impact of an advisory group's recent recommendation that doctors receive a Medicare payment update in 2006 of inflation minus 0.8 percentage points. In fact, MGMA President and Chief Executive Officer William Jessee was speaking of a 5% rate cut for physicians scheduled to take place in 2006 without congressional action.
