WellPoint named John Watts, 45, the top executive at its Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia unit, as head of national business accounts for the company. Effective Jan. 1, Caroline Matthews, 45, was named to replace Watts at the Georgia Blues, becoming the health plan's third president in the four years that it has belonged to the larger Blues plan operator. WellPoint was created in the Nov. 30 merger of Anthem and WellPoint Health Networks. It has 3.2 million members.
