Medtronic, Minneapolis, said in a securities filing Wednesday that it acquired Angiolink Corp., Taunton, Mass., last month for $45 million. Medtronic said it may pay an undisclosed additional amount depending on the performance of Angiolink's products. Five-year-old Angiolink, which had been privately held, developed wound-closure solutions for vascular procedures. Earlier this week, the New York Times reported that Johnson & Johnson, New Brunswick, N.J., is negotiating to acquire Medtronic competitor Guidant Corp., Indianapolis, for $24 billion. -- by Vince Galloro
