The deadline is approaching for nominations for Modern Healthcare's annual Trustee of the Year competition. The awards, co-sponsored by healthcare executive search firm Witt/Kieffer, honor two outstanding trustees for their contributions to healthcare governance-one for small healthcare organizations, those with fewer than 250 beds or less than $75 million in annual revenue, and another award for larger organizations.
To nominate someone for the honors, send a letter no longer than five pages explaining why you believe the person deserves to win. Judging criteria will include accomplishments in community relations, finance, leadership and strategy.
Letters must include the name of the healthcare organization, the organization's chief executive, address and phone number, number of staffed beds and 2003 revenue, as well as the name of the nominee, the nominee's employer and years the trustee has been on the healthcare organization's board. The letter also should include pertinent information about the person making the nomination. The deadline for nominations is Dec. 31.
