Modern Healthcare is extending the deadline for readers to submit nominations for the 2005 Health Care Hall of Fame induction. That deadline is now Monday, Dec. 13.
The program honors those who have made outstanding contributions to healthcare in this country and around the world. More than 60 healthcare visionaries are honored in the hall. Previous inductees include Michael DeBakey, Paul Ellwood Jr., Abraham Flexner, Benjamin Franklin, C. Everett Koop, Foster McGaw, Walter McNerney and Boone Powell Sr. A complete list of inductees and profiles of the 2004 winners can be found in the special Hall of Fame section in the March 1 issue. The same information is available in this section. A panel of distinguished healthcare executives selects winners for this recognition.
Please send nominating letters and background information on candidates to Hall of Fame, c/o Neil McLaughlin, Managing Editor, Modern Healthcare, 360 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, Ill. 60601. There are no special criteria or forms for the nominating process. Inductees will be announced in January and profiled in the March 14, 2005 issue. They will be honored at a dinner held in conjunction with the American College of Healthcare Executives' annual congress in Chicago during the week of March 13, 2005.
