Catholic system Trinity Health, Novi, Mich., named Joseph Swedish to replace outgoing President and Chief Executive Officer Judy Pelham, 59, who announced plans in March to retire by 2005. Swedish, 53, has been president and chief executive officer at 12-hospital Centura Health in Denver, Colorado's largest hospital system. Swedish will start at 29-hospital Trinity Jan. 1. He will become Trinity's second president. The system was formed by the May 2000 merger of Mercy Health Services, Farmington Hills, Mich., and Holy Cross Health System Corp., South Bend, Ind. It recorded net income of $240.2 million on revenue of $5.3 billion in fiscal 2004 ended June 30.
