Quinnipiac University, Hamden, Conn., became one of the few universities offering a healthcare compliance certification. The program is open to certain healthcare professionals meeting admission criteria and Quinnipiac students seeking a master of business administration, a law degree or a joint MBA-law degree. Certified through October 2005 by the Healthcare Compliance Certification Board of the 3,500-member Health Care Compliance Association, the Quinnipiac program will cover auditing, compliance and other healthcare legal issues, and financial and general management. The compliance association said the 16-credit program was the first it had accredited. Seton Hall Law School, Newark, N.J., offers a multi-day educational program for compliance professionals and lawyers in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. -- by Mark Taylor
