Former American Medical Association President Yank Coble Jr., M.D., was inaugurated last week as president of the World Medical Association at its general assembly in Tokyo.
Coble, an endocrinologist from Neptune Beach, Fla., takes over the top post of the worldwide organization that represents more than
8 million physicians in 80 countries. In his inaugural address, Coble stressed the need for increasing access to care and uniting physicians.
