Two physician leaders were named to the board of directors of Health Level 7, the healthcare information technology standards organization based in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Bob Dolin, M.D., a LaPalma, Calif.-based informaticist with the Southern California Permanente Medical Group, and Randy Levin, M.D., associate director for electronic submissions at the Food and Drug Administration's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, were named to two-year terms as directors at large at the group's annual meeting in Atlanta.
Dolin and Kai Heitmann, M.D. of University of Cologne, Germany, a current HL 7 board member, also were named volunteers of the year by the organization. Bill Braithwaite, M.D., an independent health policy consultant in Washington, D.C., and Charles Mead, M.D., director of healthcare information architecture for Oracle Corp., is also on the 15-member board.
