The National Center for Healthcare Leadership, Chicago, expanded its board to 25 with the addition of William Moeller, president and chief executive officer of 900,000-member UnitedHealthcare of Illinois. Moeller, who has a long history in banking and management, joins the board of the 3-year-old center effective immediately. He has been the top official at the UnitedHealth Group subsidiary since 2001.
In other executive news, Havasu Regional Medical Center, Lake Havasu City, Ariz., began operating under a new chief executive officer Tuesday, when Dorothy Sawyer replaced former CEO Chad Patrick, who left earlier this year. Sawyer resigned as CEO of Maryvale Hospital, Phoenix, in March to pursue other opportunities.
