Rehab firm begins acquisitions
New company Rehab Practice Management, Franklin, Tenn., said earlier this month that it acquired the California operations of National Rehab Partners, Brentwood, Tenn., including outpatient clinics and contracts to manage and staff hospital rehabilitation departments. The acquisition is the company's first. John Hawes, who was chairman and chief executive officer of National Rehab, is the sole owner of Rehab Practice, which he formed in July. Hawes declined to disclose how many clinics and contracts were involved and at what price. Hawes said Rehab Practice is in discussions with about 15 bariatric-surgery centers to offer nonsurgical solutions for obesity.
