A July 19 article ("Public outcry," p. 16) on a lawsuit involving facilities that take part in a federal drug-discount program incorrectly stated the amount of money the program oversees. It should have said the program oversees about $3 billion, not $300 billion.
An Aug. 2 story about investor-owned hospital chain Vanguard Health Systems ("A juicy stake," p. 10) incorrectly stated the value of the hospital company's recapitalization deal. The deal was valued in total at $1.75 billion, with the investment by the Blackstone Group representing about two-thirds of that total. The story indicated that the Blackstone Group's investment was $1.75 billion, implying a higher valuation of Vanguard.
