A group of physicians in Portland, Ore., will reopen shuttered Woodland Park Hospital in November after paying about $450,000 to purchase the 77-bed facility from bankrupt Symphony Healthcare, Nashville. Details of the purchase and planned reopening were released at a news conference in Portland. The physician-investors plan to encourage former hospital employees to apply for 205 new jobs, lost when the facility closed in mid-January along with Symphony's other facility, 77-bed Eastmoreland Hospital, also in Portland. Eastmoreland was sold for $5.2 million to Reed College earlier this year. -- by Michael Romano
