Healthcare Realty Trust, Nashville, will pay about $133 million to purchase 20 medical office buildings from Dallas-based Baylor Health Care System and its affiliates, the company announced today. The deal amounts to about 1 million square feet of additional space for the big real estate investment trust, which owns, manages and develops income-producing real-estate properties in the healthcare field. As of March 31, the company had investments of about $1.7 billion in 228 real estate properties or mortgages totaling 11.8 million square feet.
