Tenet Healthcare Corp., Santa Barbara, Calif., said James Unruh, the former top executive at Unisys Corp., has joined its board of directors. Unruh, 63, was president, chairman and chief executive officer of Unisys, an information technology services provider, from 1990 to 1997. He is now principal of Alerion Capital Group, Phoenix, a private equity firm. He is also a director at Prudential Financial, which sells long-term-care insurance but not other health insurance products. Unruh becomes the ninth member of Tenet's board. Tenet's four longest-serving directors, including then-Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Barbakow, stepped down from the board after the company adopted new governance standards last year following a series of government investigations into its business practices. Tenet owns or operates 99 hospitals, including 30 it plans to divest. -- by Vince Galloro
