Texas Children's Hospital in Houston said it plans build an outpatient center in the suburb of West Houston and has acquired enough land at the site to possibly develop a second hospital campus in the distant future. The outpatient facility is expected to be completed within three years and would be the hospital's fifth suburban location, said Senior Vice President Doug Hock. The center will offer pediatric subspecialty services such as gastroenterology, otolaryngology, diabetes, endocrinology, orthopedics, cardiology, pulmonary medicine, pediatric surgery and urology, as well as advanced diagnostic imaging, ambulatory surgery, audiology, and physical, occupational and speech therapies. Hock said the cost has not been determined. -- by Mary Chris Jaklevic
