Abbott Laboratories' hospital-focused spinoff, Hospira, began trading at $28.50 per share on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "HSP." One of the largest hospital products manufacturers in the U.S., Hospira has 14,000 employees, 14 manufacturing sites worldwide and an estimated $2.5 billion in annual sales. Christopher Begley, former president of Abbott's hospital products division, leads the company. David Jones, co-founder and chairman of Humana, is its chairman. -- by Cinda Becker
