Know a great residency program mentor to nominate for a national award? Tolerance for cold is not a prerequisite attribute, but it might not hurt.
The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education is calling for nominations for the 2005 Parker J. Palmer Courage to Teach award, given annually to 10 residency program directors for teaching and mentoring of medical residents.
The upside is that winners will be honored at the 2005 ACGME meeting. The downside is the meeting is in Chicago -- Feb. 14-15.
Winners also will be invited to attend an educational retreat at the Fetzer Institute in Kalamazoo, Mich. Nomination forms are available at www.acgme.org. The nomination deadline is June 15.
