Aurora Health Care, Milwaukee, and its 60-physician Wilkinson Medical Clinic, Oconomowoc, Wis., hope to build an $85 million, 88-bed hospital in southeast Wisconsin. The proposed Aurora Medical Center, in Summit, Wis., would open in spring 2006 and include a cancer center, dialysis facility and cardiopulmonary services. Critics of the plan say a new facility would raise overall healthcare costs by increasing competition among area hospitals for patients and workers. Aurora operates 12 hospitals. -- by Patrick Reilly
