The American Hospital Association, which led last year's push for an 18-month moratorium on physician investment in new specialty hospitals, has formed a task force to help members deal with the "challenges" posed by specialty hospitals. The task force will focus on how hospitals can partner with physicians before the physicians decide to build competing facilities, the AHA said. It is a successor to an earlier panel that helped direct the AHA's successful campaign to get the moratorium included in the new Medicare reform bill.
