"The Florida Web site for hospital consumers, floridahealthstat.com, offers lots of information, just not what people want to know. For example, it can tell you which hospitals in your area do cardiac-bypass surgery. But it doesn't tell you how well they do it; it doesn't give mortality and complication rates. And it doesn't tell you how much it's going to cost. ... The Agency for Health Care Administration, which maintains the Web site, collects a great deal of cost and quality information that consumers want. But most of it never gets posted."
