Three out of five employers surveyed said it's very important to provide or at least help fund health insurance for their employees, and nearly as many, 56%, supported public policy measures to mandate employer-sponsored coverage. Still, one-third of companies said they raised copayments or coinsurance in 2002 to handle rising healthcare costs, and nearly one-third increased employee premiums, the Commonwealth Fund survey found.
