Tenet Healthcare Corp., Santa Barbara, Calif., said its board of directors has added Richard Pettingill, president and chief executive officer of Allina Hospital and Clinics, Minneapolis. Pettingill, 55, took the helm at Allina in October 2002. He also has experience in California, Tenet's largest market, having worked as a high-level executive for Kaiser Permanente's California division from 1996 to 2002. Previously he was president and CEO of Camino Healthcare, Mountain View, Calif. The system, which integrated a hospital and physician group, lost $17.6 million on operations on $180.7 million in revenue in its fiscal year ended in June 1995, according to state records. Camino Healthcare subsequently was taken over by the hospital's original owner, El Camino Hospital District. -- by Vince Galloro
