Tenet Healthcare Corp., Santa Barbara, Calif., said it finalized an agreement to sell 11 home-health agencies and two hospices to Amedisys, Baton Rouge, La. Publicly traded Amedisys will pay $19 million for the facilities, which are in Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas. Tenet also will realize $4.3 million by liquidating the facilities' working capital. The facilities have annual revenue of $28 million, Amedisys said. Amedisys, which disclosed it had a tentative deal with Tenet in a securities filing last month, reported revenue of $129 million in 2002. -- by Vince Galloro
