Allina Hospitals & Clinics will move its 1,000-employee corporate-service operations into a former Sears, Roebuck and Co. retail and catalog center in Minneapolis, one block from Allina's flagship facility, Abbott Northwestern Hospital. The system said it expects to reduce operating costs by $2 million annually by consolidating its 11 corporate-service locations. The cost of the move will total approximately $7.9 million, excluding lease expenses, and will be offset by the sale of two real estate holdings, Allina said. -- by Patrick Reilly
