Methodist Hospital System, Houston, announced plans to expand its flagship hospital at a slated construction cost of $370 million. An adult ambulatory clinic is expected to open by 2007, followed by construction of an inpatient tower with no opening date set. Officials said the project would not change the Houston hospital's inpatient bed count of 1,000 but would free space for a new $100 million research institute.
