Iasis Healthcare Corp., Franklin, Tenn., will buy a Las Vegas-area hospital from Tenet Healthcare Corp., Santa Barbara, Calif., marking the last hospital to be sold or closed from a list of 14 hospitals that Tenet had slated for divestiture. Iasis said it will pay $25 million for 198-bed Lake Mead Hospital Medical Center, North Las Vegas, Nev., subject to net working capital and other adjustments. Tenet will retain accounts receivable and certain other current assets worth approximately $15 million. The deal is expected to close by March 31. If the deal is completed, Tenet will have 99 hospitals in its portfolio. Acquiring Lake Mead would give Iasis 15 hospitals. -- by Vince Galloro
