Dennis Barry, after 25 years at the helm of Moses Cone Health System, Greensboro, N.C., plans to retire at the end of the year, the hospital system said. As president and CEO, Barry built a diverse health system on the foundation of 535-bed Moses Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro. The system now includes four acute-care hospitals, one psychiatric hospital, a 48-member physician practice, a nursing home and an extended-care center. Barry, 64, is immediate past chairman of the American Hospital Association's board of trustees; his term expires this summer. The Moses Cone board has named a search committee to find a successor to Barry and expects to choose a new CEO by fall. -- by Vince Galloro
