HCA, Nashville, today named two new hospital CEOs for its Midwest division to replace two holdovers from the hospitals' previous owner, said Rob Dyer, an HCA Midwest spokesman. Bill May will be the CEO at 47-bed Research Belton (Mo.) Hospital, and Carolyn Caldwell will take over at 83-bed Lee's Summit (Mo.) Hospital, Dyer said. Both CEOs will begin their new jobs next month. HCA acquired the two hospitals as part of its $1.1 billion acquisition of not-for-profit Health Midwest; the deal closed in April. Effective Dec. 19, Daniel Sheehan resigned from Research Belton and John Jacobson resigned from Lee's Summit, Dyer said. Neither Sheehan nor Jacobson could be reached immediately for comment. HCA owns or operates 190 hospitals. -- by Vince Galloro
