The city of Terrell, Texas, is looking for a new operator for its public hospital after Triad Hospitals, Plano, Texas, said it would end its lease of the 130-bed Medical Center at Terrell, located on the fringe of the competitive Dallas-Fort Worth market. Triad spokeswoman Pat Ball said the hospital has been losing money on operations in recent months. She declined to release financial data. The lease ends Jan. 31, but Triad has negotiated terms to extend its management until a new operator is found. Triad inherited management of the hospital when Triad was spun off from HCA in 1999. -- by Mary Chris Jaklevic
