The departments of U.S. Veterans Affairs and Defense have chosen sites for a three-year demonstration project testing ways the agencies can work together to provide more seamless medical care for veterans and military members. The sites will share information and resources in one of three areas: budget and financial management, staffing and assignments, and medical information and information technology. In other news, the VA said eight centers' research programs have earned accreditation from the National Committee for Quality Assurance under revised human research protection standards. -- by Tony Fong
