MedCath Corp. says it has opened its 11th hospital, the Heart Hospital of Milwaukee, a 32-bed facility in Glendale, Wis.
The Charlotte, N.C.-based company says the facility, which it owns in partnership with Milwaukee-area surgeons and cardiologists, has three operating rooms, three catheterization labs and eight day-patient beds.
The facility also runs a four-bed emergency room and is accredited by the Joint Committee on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the company adds in a release.
MedCath says its 11 hospitals have a total of 667 licensed beds. In addition to Milwaukee, they are located in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Louisiana, New Mexico, Ohio, South Dakota and Texas. Two more hospitals are under development in San Antonio, Texas, and Lafayette, La.
