Nominations are now being accepted for the 2004 Trustee of the Year awards.
The annual competition honors two outstanding trustees for their contributions to healthcare governance-one for small healthcare organizations, those with fewer than 250 beds, or less than $75 million in annual revenue, and another for larger groups. The awards program is co-sponsored by executive search firm Witt/Kieffer.
To nominate someone, send Modern Healthcare a letter no longer than five pages long explaining why the person deserves recognition. Judging criteria will include accomplishments in community relations, ethics, finance, leadership and strategy. Letters must include the name of the healthcare organization, its chief executive, address and phone number, number of staffed beds and 2002 revenue, as well as the nominee's employer and number of years the trustee has been on the board. The letter also should include pertinent information about the person making the nomination.
Send all nomination letters to Modern Healthcare, Trustee of the Year Awards, c/o David May, Assistant Managing Editor/Features, 360 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, Ill., 60601-3806. The deadline for all nominations is Dec. 31. Winners will be announced in the March 22, 2004, issue of Modern Healthcare.
