He replaces Mark Ganz, who will remain the Regence Group's president and COO. Friedman, 49, most recently served as CEO of Providence Health Plans, an 800,000-member insurer owned by seven-hospital Providence Health System in Oregon. ... Thomas Rockers, 56, is the new president and CEO of St. Anthony's Medical Center, St. Louis. He succeeds David Seifert, who retired in June. ... Carol Bradley has been named the first-ever chief nursing officer for Tenet Healthcare Corp.'s unit that includes 39 hospitals in California and one hospital each in Nebraska and Nevada. Bradley, 50, has worked in nursing for 29 years, most recently as vice president of patient services at Huntington Memorial Hospital, Pasadena, Calif., and is a past president of the American Organization of Nurse Executives. ... Ron Streck, 58, has announced plans to retire Dec. 31 as president and CEO of the Healthcare Distribution Management Association, Reston, Va. Streck has been at the association for 26 years, spending the past 11 years in the top job. ... Joel Fagerstrom has been named COO of Morristown (N.J.) Memorial Hospital, part of four-hospital Atlantic Health System, based in Florham Park, N.J. Fagerstrom, 41, had been COO of Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia for the past four years. ... Paige Lowe Kisber is the new president of the Hospital Alliance of Tennessee, which lobbies for the state's not-for-profit hospitals. Kisber, 34, who left a state liaison job with the University of Tennessee, replaces Adrienne Knestrick, who will step down next month after assisting Kisber during a transition period.
