Texas Health Resources (THR) has entered into a for-profit joint venture with physicians to operate a surgical hospital in Arlington, Texas. Financial terms were not disclosed. THR owns half of the venture, which will operate as USMD Surgical Hospital of Arlington. A partnership of more than 60 physicians owns 45%, and Mat-Rx Development of Arlington holds 5%. The facility, formerly owned by THR, was called Arlington Memorial Medical Center and primarily did outpatient business. Mat-Rx will manage surgery, radiology, laboratory and admitting services and a medical office building.
